It’s the season of giving! Put your Christmas spirit into action at Rockbridge Christmas Baskets’ Packing Day 2025.
Rockbridge Christmas Baskets, or “RCB,” is a generationsold, 100% volunteer-run, independent organization that serves Rockbridge County, Lexington, and Buena Vista at the holidays by packing and delivering boxes of food and toys to households in need. The Packing Day event represents the culmination of the past year’s work by RCB’s board of directors and many community partners.
Paige Williams, president of the RCB board of directors, explained, “Packing Day is such an amazing example of community love and support. Every year, I look around and think how none of this would be possible without longtime partners like the Virginia Horse Center, Charles Barger, Lexington City Public Works, and so many others. We are deeply grateful for this teamwork. And to all those who step up and fill boxes of food and bags of toys with their financial support, you make all the difference! Thank you so much — and please spread the word, because this year we plan to pack over 1,900 boxes. We strive to meet the needs of as many households as we can, and making a gift is a wonderful way to help your neighbor and spread Christmas spirit.”
Packing Day 2025 will be held at the Virginia Horse Center from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 6. (No pets, please.) Donations can be made securely online at rockbridgechristmasbaskets. org or mailed to RCB at P.O. Box 1030, Lexington, VA 24450.
