Nov. 10, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette: Once again my letter to the editor nemesis, Danny Hoene has used an entire column to vilify my letters against Trump. Danny’s way to feel superior is to try to make someone else look intellectually inferior. Using “big” words like ubiquitous just add to his sad efforts.
My letters against Trump are pretty much based on truth -something Danny chooses to ignore. There are many fascists on the planet who are not necessarily mass murderers. Trump is one. But if he continues to withhold SNAP benefits from our children, families, veterans and the disabled, he may soon be qualified as a mass murderer by virtue of mass starvation. The cruelty here is that the money is there for these benefits. He just chooses out of spite to withhold them. Now that is the definition of “evil.”
He accuses me of “hating” Trump. Hate is the most powerful word in our language. People who hate others are capable of violence and even murder. I am incapable of either. I can hate a person’s behavior, his lies, his sexual abuse of women, as well as his empty promises. I can’t bear to see unnecessary suffering caused to others. My two previous letters were directed towards our need to learn to love our neighbors unconditionally. Not enough “evil” there for Danny to sink his sharp fangs into.
Seeing Trump as he really is, is like playing that game, “Pin the tail on the Donkey” without a blindfold. It’s easy to pin the “tail” (evidence) on the donkey’s (t)rump when it is positioned directly in front of you. Danny continues to be blinded no matter how much evidence is presented. I truly pity Trump for his evil actions and Danny for his gross ignorance. BETH HOUSER Lexington
