The Southern Virginia University Knight 5-kilometer Run welcomed 194 participants on Saturday, Oct. 18, while children aged 12 and under raced in the kids’ fun run. The event was part of SVU’s homecoming weekend.
Quinton Meyer, 26, won the 5K in 14 minutes, 27.77 seconds. Placing second was Camden Read, 24, in 15:17.27. Jordan Read, 33, finished third in 15:18.51.
The top female finisher was Kamryn Meyer, 22, in 16:18.04. Placing second among females and 19th overall was Anja Fisher, 18, in 17:11.64. Hallie McMurdie, 20, finished third among females and 24th overall in 17:42.97.
Male age group winners were M. Christensen (boys 9 and under, 105th overall in 25:47.66), A. Cooper (boys 10-14, sixth in 15:48.35), Brayden Holdren (boys 1519, fifth in 15:42.19), Holton Bundy (men 20-29, fourth in 15:32.5), Hyrum Arnesen (men 30-39, 34th in 18:54.18), Jared Lee (men 40-49, 14th in 16:38.03), Will Barbee (men 50-59, 78th in 23:15.59) and Michael Barrett (men 60-69, 87th in 24:01.05).
Female age group winners were E. Scheele (girls 10-14, 158th in 35:32.44), Gracie Blake (girls 15-19, 27th in 17:54.41), Lucy Dalgleish (women 20-29, 37th in 19:38.89), Kirsten Barney (women 30-39, 63rd in 22:14.94), Amy Nuzman (women 40-49, 47th in 20:38.22), Rachel Bayles (women 50-59, 139th in 32:49.84) and Carrie Brotherson (women 60-69, 147th in 33:34.74).
