Esther Pennington, 540-291-2629 The nominating committee presented its slate of officers for selection for the class of 2028 at a congregational meeting at High Bridge Presbyterian Church on Nov. 16. The elders are Leigh Ann McCoy and Christy Black, and Jimmy Black, Donna Lotts, Kristy Reed, Spencer Suter are deacons. Pastor Willis thanked those leaving the office for their service. They are elders Linda Wood and Mary Carson Worley and Deacons Tom Thompson and David Tolley.
Visitors to the service this past Sunday included two members of the Virginia Military Institute rugby team.
Small Church will meet tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome to attend. Bible study will be led by Joe Hawes.
The Presbyterian Women’s coordinating team will meet Nov. 23 after worship in the fellowship hall under the leadership of Moderator Faye Worley. During the meeting, plans will be finalized for Advent season.
The Presbyterian Women will collect the thank offering each Sunday for the month of November. These funds will support word-wide mission projects. Connie Powell is the member-at-large chairperson.
The Glasgow Christmas parade is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m. The theme this year will be “The real reason for the season.” Interested businesses, clubs and churches may obtain a flyer with a list of the categories by contacting Larry Spangler.
The Natural Bridge Food Pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 20, and close at 11 a.m. We ask that our supporting churches and friends donate cereal and instant potatoes. Also, we will greatly appreciate donations to purchase turkeys for Thanksgiving.
