Rockbridge Connect and Nourish (Rockbridge CAN) will host a dinner catered by the Lexington Catering Company today, Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Palmer Community Center located at 1230 Blue Grass Trail, Lexington. The free professionally catered community dinner will be served dine-in style from 6 to 7 p.m. All are invited to attend.
The Effinger Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Hunter’s Supper on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Effinger firehouse. The public is invited to enjoy a hearty meal with a choice of pork tenderloin or meatloaf plus two sides, applesauce, rolls and a beverage choice of iced tea or water. The cost of the meal is $15. The fire department’s raffle drawing will be held that evening at 7. Fifteen winners will be selected for the donated prizes listed on the Effinger fire department’s Facebook page. Tickets are $1 each, $5 for six tickets, or $10 for 12 tickets. Tickets may be purchased from any auxiliary member or by calling (540) 460-3980. Donations to support the work of the Effinger Volunteer Fire Department are greatly appreciated.
The Effinger Community Thanksgiving Service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 5 p.m. at the Palmer Community Center. The event is sponsored by the Effinger Ruritan Club. A time of fellowship will be provided prior to the service.
