Wisdom for a great start to breastfeeding will be the discussion topic for the monthly La Leche League meeting Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church in the second floor Canterbury room, accessible via elevator at the back of the church on 123 W. Washington St., Lexington.
Learning to breastfeed a baby for the first time can be a beautiful experience and parents often ask questions such as - how do I know baby is getting enough milk, how often should I breastfeed the baby, why is the diaper output important, are special nursing clothes necessary, how to prevent engorgement early when milk production kicks in, what are the best positions for early nursing, how can nipple soreness be prevented, and other topics.
These meetings are open to all pregnant and breastfeeding women, babies/children and family members who want to gain more information. A lending library is available with books covering various issues.
Refreshments will be served. For more information, call Cindy Downes at (540) 460-3966 or send email to [email protected]
