Blues Defeat Bath County On Senior Night, 28-12

In its final home game of the regular season, the Parry McCluer High School football team broke away from a close game to earn a 28-12 win over Pioneer District rival Bath County on Friday night in Buena Vista.

The Fighting Blues (5-4 overall, 1-2 district) led 14-12 at the end of the third quarter before senior running back Jacob Shafer, returning from an injury after being out several weeks, scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to seal the win over the Chargers (4-4, 1-2). For the game, Shafer rushed for 116 yards and three TDs on 20 carries, while PM junior running back Parker Snider ran for 104 yards on 14 carries. PM senior quarterback Nathan Glass scored on a 1-yard run.

Before the game, the Blues honored their six seniors: Glass, Shafer, Jonavan and Zavion Dunn, Timmy Lesher and Landon Orren.

The Blues will conclude the regular season with a district game at Eastern Montgomery (1-8, 0-3) next Friday at 7 p.m.
