Every year for homecoming, it is tradition for the junior and senior girls to play each other in flag football during the Thompson Turf War. This event was held on Monday, Oct. 20, by Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). This annual powder puff game was renamed to carry on the legacy of RCHS teacher Sandy Thompson who passed away in 2022. This year the seniors won the game. This event is a good way for students to have fun and remember Thompson.

On Oct. 25, the National Honor Society (NHS) hosted its annual Halloween Fair at RCHS. This event is put on every year to provide a safe environment for kids to go trick-or-treating and celebrate Halloween. For students, this provides a good opportunity to help out in their community and have fun. There were games, trick-or-treat doors, and a haunted hallway for children and families to enjoy. The money raised at this event goes towards the Rockbridge Christmas Baskets Program.
