Carolyn Bradley, 540-258-2720 The Town Council and Planning Commission held a joint public hearing in its new venue at the former Glasgow Presbyterian Church fellowship hall, now known as the Town of Glasgow Events Center Meeting Room. Town meetings will be held here from now on.
We’re happy to report that the water project conducted by Wells Construction has been completed.
Citizens got a notice in their water bills this month about two things about to happen. One is a “thriftque” type of store operated by town volunteers and whose profits directly benefit town projects. This will be located in the old Glasgow library/post office building on Blueridge Road. They hope to have this open before Christmas. The other will be a monthly “free market” where everything will be free. If you have useful items you would like to donate that someone else could use, this will be a great way to give back to the community. This is supposed to be located across from the food pantry.
