SVU Improves To 6-1
Marcus Price threw for 263 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Southern Virginia University football team to a 19-10 road win over North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday.
SVU Virginia improved to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in USA South Athletic Conference play. The six overall wins are the most for the team since SVU went 8-2 in 2013, when SVU was a football independent and only a provisional NCAA Division III member.
Javier Rice of North Carolina Wesleyan (3-4 overall, 1-3 USA South) threw a 33-yard TD pass to cut the SVU lead to 13-10 with 5:29 left in the third quarter. But Price threw an 82-yard TD pass to Demetruis Perry to extend the lead to 19-10 with 10 seconds to go in the third.
The Knights will continue conference action when they play host to Belhaven University (5-2, 4-0) on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Knight Stadium in Buena Vista.
