PM Volleyball Powers Past Bath On Senior Night

Thursday, Oct. 23 -- The Parry McCluer High School volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with a 3-1 Pioneer District victory over Bath County on Senior Night in Buena Vista.

The senior duo of Kadence Zollman and Allie Cullen played a major role as the Fighting Blues (12-10 overall, 6-4 district) recorded a 26-28, 25-18, 25-20, 25-22 victory. Zollman tallied 15 kills, 19 digs and three blocks, while Cullen posted a game-high 24 digs to go along with four kills. Jorja Catlett notched 28 assists for PM, Emory Slagle chipped in nine kills and a pair of blocks, and Josie Martinez totaled five kills and 19 digs.

Addison Lockridge paced the Chargers (18-8, 5-5) with 13 kills and four blocks, and Trinity Forbes added 11 kills. Kenley Smith finished with 26 assists and eight kills, and Georgia Watkins dished out three aces.

But the Blues held an overall 23-8 advantage in service aces. Presley Camden led the way with six aces, and she also had 18 digs. Slagle notched five aces, Zollman registered four, and Cullen and Martinez recorded three apiece.

With the win, the Blues clinched the No. 3 seed in next week's district tournament. They will play host to No. 6 seed Highland County in the quarterfinal round on Monday, with the time to be announced later.
