Oct. 19, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette: For the past several years, my husband, myself, and often both of us have attended the twicemonthly Buena Vista City Council meetings. During this time, we have grown increasingly frustrated with Council members who arrive unprepared. Council packets are delivered to each member typically 5–7 days before the meeting, yet some members fail to review the agenda or materials in advance. This lack of preparation is unacceptable.
This is why we urge you to vote for our son, Frank Huffman, in the upcoming election. Frank is a thoughtful individual who carefully considers all aspects of a decision before acting. He conducts thorough research and seeks input from knowledgeable individuals to inform his choices. As a lifelong resident of Buena Vista and a dedicated employee within the community throughout his career, Frank is deeply invested in our city’s future.
We strongly believe that new leadership on the Council is essential. These changes will enable Buena Vista to compete, prosper, and thrive within our region and community.
