For Hart

Oct. 17, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette: One of the candidates for Kerrs Creek Supervisor, Boyd Brown, has been endorsed by and benefited from campaign contributions from a PAC in Dallas, Texas, run by a nonprofit from Michigan, organized by lobbyists from Dallas, to aid a nonprofit from Washington, D.C., to defeat local government efforts in Michigan to control land use decisions in their counties on behalf of solar developers.

The PAC has endorsed 18 local supervisor candidates in Virginia, including Jay Lewis from Walkers Creek. This deliberately confusing trail of masked money and endorsements is too confusing for me.

Right here where I am in Kerrs Creek in Rockbridge County, I am voting for Steve Hart, a farmer who raised his family in Kerrs Creek and hasn’t taken any money from PACs or lobbyists. Nor is he beholden to an out-of-state PAC that wants to ram through a solar panel filled rural landscape regardless of the negative impact on neighbors and agriculture.

No confused twists and turns or unknown money or hidden motives, strange texts or repudiated mailers. No confusing explanations. Just a straightforward local man who wants to keep Rockbridge County a great place to raise kids and see families thrive for the long term. Steve Hart will listen to us, not special interests from Texas or Michigan or D.C. or wherever. ROBIN MOORE Kerrs Creek
