Two local students who participated in the Lexington Woman’s Club writing contest were notified that their submissions won national awards. The General Federation of Women’s Clubs awarded first place to Adeline Barker in the grades kindergarten through second category, and to Luke Crosby, in the third through fifth grades category. Both entered poetry pieces. Adeline attends Rockbridge Christian Academy and Luke is a student at Maury River Middle School. Adeline (in photo at left) is pictured with mom Lindsay and Woman’s Club member Lydia Shiver, who presented the award. Luke (at right) is pictured with his parents Amy and Jared, along with Shiver.
