Our publisher, Matt Paxton, was featured in Jeff Bossert's most recent interview, titled: Local publishers, journalists look to break the trend of news deserts. Bossert describes a media desert as "a community that has limited access to a credible news source, like a newspaper." The News-Gazette and The Recorder, which covers Bath, Highland, and Allegany Counties, were featured as news entities "who still control their content locally, and have no intention of changing the model." Bossert also interviews Professor of Journalism and Mass Communications at Washington and Lee University, Patrick Walters. in the interview, Walters said, "news deserts are indeed a crisis."
