Monday, Sept. 29 -- The Parry McCluer High School volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory over Nelson County in a non-district matchup in Buena Vista.
Kadence Zollman posted 12 kills and three service aces to lead the Fighting Blues (9-7) to a 23-25, 25-11, 25-21, 25-19 win. Jorja Catlett notched 24 assists, 10 digs, five kills and four aces for PM, while Allie Cullen had seven kills, 27 digs and four aces.
Gabi Ramsey recorded eight kills and Jemma Browning tallied 20 assists for the Governors (3-9). Avary Sullivan finished with six kills for Nelson, and Willow Garrett served up three aces.
The Blues' defense was impressive all night, as PM racked up 103 digs. Beyond Cullen's team-leading total, Presley Camden finished with 25 digs, while Josie Martinez had 16 digs to go along with seven kills and four assists.
PM will return to the court with a Pioneer District match at Eastern Montgomery on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Action is slated to start with the junior varsity contest at 5:30 p.m.
