High Bridge Presbyterian Church welcomed back its pianist, Donna Armentrout, after a medical event. We are happy she was able to return this past Sunday to play the offertory. Many thanks to Lea Braford as she continues to fill in during Donna’s recovery.
Visitors to High Bridge this week included Nancy Tolley Hostetter of Lexington, and her grandson, Richard Jones of Charlottesville.
The four Sundays leading up to our anniversary celebration, Dwinnie Shafer has children providing the children’s sermon. This past Sunday, our children’s message was entitled “Rebuilding.” It was narrated by Cora Myers, as Everly and Kinsley Myers held up depictions.
Men’s group bible study led by John Pollock begins today, Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 5:30 p.m. in the downstairs fellowship hall.
On Sunday, Sept. 21, a new members’ class begins in the upstairs fellowship hall during Sunday school classes. It will be taught by the Rev. Willis.
Small Church meets Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. in the downstairs fellowship hall. Bible study will be led by Joe Hawes. Refreshments will be served and everyone is invited to attend.
There will be no Sunday school classes on Sunday, Sept. 28, as we will be celebrating our 255th anniversary.
The Presbyterian Women’s third quarter mission is the Natural Bridge Elementary School clothes closet. Needed clothing includes underwear, shorts, pants (no jeans), and tennis shoes sized 11-4. Items can be left with Betsy Shepard or dropped off in the narthex.
