Monday, Sept. 22 -- Amherst County defeated Parry McCluer High School 3-0 in a non-district volleyball contest in Buena Vista.
Kynslee Wilson recorded 23 assists to direct a balanced offensive attack for the Lancers in a 25-21, 25-20, 25-13 victory. Four Amherst players posted five or more kills, led by seven from Kamdyn Carwile and six apiece from Emma Beam and Ania Thompson. Clair Meeks added five kills and six aces for the Lancers (7-3), and Anni Villain had three aces.
Kadence Zollman paced the Fighting Blues (4-4) with eight kills, four aces and six digs. Jorja Catlett totaled 13 assists and two aces for PM, while Allie Cullen notched three kills, 11 digs and a pair of aces. Emory Slagle also finished with three kills, and Presley Camden recorded five digs.
PM will return to the court at Pioneer foe Craig County on Tuesday. Action begins with the junior varsity match at 5:30 p.m.
