The eighth annual Run of the Mill 5-kilometer running/walking race will take place on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m., with the hilly course going from historic Brownsburg to Wade’s Mill in Raphine.
The event is a fundraiser for the Brownsburg Community Association, with funds supporting student scholarships, first responders and community projects.
The course follows rolling tarmac through beautiful farmland and crosses several creeks. All ages and abilities are welcome, including children in strollers and canine companions on leashes.
There will be prizes for the top three male and female finishers, the oldest and youngest finishers, pets and more. The winners of the men’s and women’s divisions will receive a custom shoe fitting and a free pair of shoes (limited to in-stock inventory) from Lex Running Shop. There will be a picnic after the race, with free hot dogs, snacks and drinks provided at the finish line.
Registration for the 5K is $20 in advance or $25 on race day. T-shirts and race swag bags are provided for all.
