The family of MarySue Forrest and the staff of The Bookery are inviting the community to a reception celebrating her life this Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the bookstore.
Forrest, who owned the store for 35 years, died April 27. This Saturday would have been her 78th birthday.
The store is now owned by Leigh Forrest, MarySue’s daughter, and Victoria “Tori” Murphy is now manager of the bookstore.
They have engaged Jane Harrington, a local author whose work MarySue supported, to join the celebration Saturday to discuss and sign copies of her new book, “Women of the Fairy Tale Resistance.” (See separate story.)
Sweets from local bakeries will be served, along with light beverages.
