Ruckus Rocking Boxerwood Friday

Ruckus Rocking Boxerwood Friday
THE RUCKUS Bluegrass Band will be performing at Boxerwood this Friday as part of the Music in the Garden series.

The Ruckus Bluegrass Band will perform their custom blend of traditional and contemporary bluegrass on the meadow stage at Boxerwood this Friday, Aug. 22, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Veteran members Ruth Huffman and Will Lee will be joined on guitar by multi-instrumentalist and Rockbridge native Brennan Gilmore. This year’s configuration will also feature Dale Reno on mandolin.

The gate opens at 5:30 p.m. so that early arrivals can meet up with friends to picnic, socialize or get a bite to eat. A food truck will be serving food for purchase.

Admission to Music in the Garden concerts is free for children and current Boxerwood members and $5 per adult for nonmembers. There’s no charge for parking in the field, and there is dedicated handicapped parking with terrain is suitable for wheelchairs. Attendees may bring their own beverages, lawn chairs and blankets, and are asked to pick up after themselves. Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome as long as owners clean up after them.

In the event of rain, concerts will be postponed. Consult Boxerwood social media and/or the Boxerwood website for more information, including “iffy” weather updates and food truck posts.
