CITY OF LEXINGTON NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO REVIEW AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ARTICLE XIII. SIGNS AND ARTICLE XX. DEFINITIONS OF THE CITY OF LEXINGTON ZONING ORDINANCE TO ALLOW CANOPY SIGNS IN THE C-1 AND C-2 ZONING DISTRICTS
A public hearing will be conducted by the Lexington Planning Commission at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 28, 2025 in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, to allow persons to appear and present their views in response to an application by Francesco Benincasa to amend the Lexington Zoning Ordinance. The application proposes amending a) Article XIII to allow canopy signs in the C-1 and C-2 zoning districts, and b) Article XX to amend the definition for “canopy sign” and to add a definition for “awning sign”.
A copy of the draft Zoning Ordinance Amendment, case number ZOA 2025-03, is available for public review and examination between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the Planning and Development Department located at 539 E. Nelson Street, Second Floor.
