Mini-warehouse Design Standards Approved
Lexington City Council unanimously approved amendments to the city zoning ordinance to establish design standards for mini-warehouse developments in the city.
Mini-warehouses are a conditional use in the city’s entrance corridor C-2 zoning districts along portions of East Nelson Street and South Main Street. Currently, no mini-warehouse buildings have been constructed within the city.
Earlier this year, the Lexington Planning Commission recommended removing them as an allowed use within the city, but drafted design standards as an alternative proposal for council to consider if they wished to continue to allow them.
Leslie Straughan made the motion to approve the new design standards, and John Driscoll provided the second. The motion carried in a 5-0 vote, with Chuck Smith not in attendance
