Hill Of Hope Returns For Relay

The Relay For Life of Rockbridge County is set to bring the community together once again in the fight against cancer. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 6, at Central Elementary School, promising an evening filled with celebration, remembrance, and hope.

A beloved tradition returns as participants will experience the moving Hill of Hope, a display of luminarias and messages that remember loved ones lost to cancer since Aug. 24, 2024. This visually powerful tribute serves as a reminder of the courage, love, and unity that fuels the Relay For Life mission. Contact Robin Hartless Moore to add a loved one to the Hill of Hope by sending email to [email protected] or call (540) 460-2485.

Relay For Life brings together survivors, caregivers, teams, and community members for a night of walking, entertainment and purpose. All funds raised go to the American Cancer Society to support groundbreaking research, patient services and educational programs.

“We’re excited to once again feature the Hill of Hope at our event,” said Moore, event chair for Relay For Life of Rockbridge County. “It’s a moment that touches every participant, reminding us why we relay — because hope lives here in Rockbridge County.”

Community members, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to register teams, sponsor the event, or volunteer.
