Sgt. Claytor Honored While Scoring For Guns

Sgt. Norman Claytor Jr. of the Guns team receives a congratulatory handshake from Kevin Mikels of the Hoses team as he approaches home plate during the second annual Guns & Hoses Softball Games for local first responders on Tuesday of last week at Virginia Military Institute’s Lamore Field at Gray Minor Stadium. Claytor, a cancer survivor who was an honorary captain and a courtesy runner for the Guns, which won both games, was honored while being allowed to score.
