BV Grand Jury Hands Down Indictments

In addition to the certified charges from General District Court earlier this month, Jason Esque was indicted by a Buena Vista grand jury last week on three new felony charges stemming from a fatal car accident he was involved in on March 10.

Those additional charges are one count of felony homicide (accidentally killing another during commission of another felony), one count of aggravated involuntary manslaughter and one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The additional charges stem from the fact that Donnie Coleman, the driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident, died a few days after the accident. An autopsy determined that his death was a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash. In the indictment for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle charge, the owner of the car is listed as Enterprise.

Esque was also indicted on two felony counts of maiming while driving under the influence and fleeing the scene of an accident. He is also charged with three misdemeanors: one count of page 4 driving under the influence (first offense), reckless driving and driving with a revoked or suspended license.
