Visitors to church two weeks ago at High Bridge Presbyterian Church included Norma Broughman of Buchanan and Brad Myers’ brother and his wife. Visitors this past Sunday were Morgan and Harper Shepherd of Woodbridge. They are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Shepherd and granddaughters of E.G. and Betsey Shepherd.
After church service in the summer months, the congregation is enjoying “lemonade on the lawn” provided by the deacons and members also contribute cookies.
Vacation Bible school two weeks ago was a success, and the children enjoyed an informative day of bible studies and fun activities at Cave Mountain Lake.
Small church will be led by Joes Hawes tomorrow, Thursday, July 31, at 7 p.m. at the church fellowship hall. Light refreshments will be served, and visitors are welcome.
On Tuesday, Aug. 5, the evening circle meets with Ruth Anne Parsons at 6 p.m. Faye Worley will lead the Bible lesson. The afternoon circle meets Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 12:30 with Sue Braford.
On Aug. 10, we will have the children’s “noisy can” offering and a deacon’s meeting after church service.
Change of date: we will celebrate our annual service at Cave Mountain Lake at 10 a.m. on Aug. 24 instead of Aug. 17. A covered-dish luncheon follows and guests are invited to attend.
Scott and Becky Hannah and grandson Aaron Black recently visited their son Jason, wife Hanna, and family in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Weekday Religious Education will have their startup meeting Aug. 11 at 6 p.m. at Beth Horon United Methodist Church. All supporting churches and visitors are welcome to attend.
High Bridge will celebrate its 255th anniversary this fall on the weekend of Sept. 27-28. Please join us for different celebration and history activities each day.
The Natural Bridge Food Pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, and close at 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting canned fruit for the food pantry in August.
