TheRockbridgeAreaRecreationOrganization held a youth basketball camp last week at Mike Burch Gymnasium at Lylburn Downing Middle School, with members of the Virginia Military Institute basketball team teaching skills to the campers. This fall, RARO will be offering its second annual Cadet Basketball League, which will be held on Sundays from Sept. 7 to Oct. 12 at Maury River Middle School. Children will be coached by VMI basketball players, with 60-minute sessions from 2-5 p.m., and the league is for kids from ages 5-10.
