Work began on the Courthouse Square project following the Fourth of July weekend, with preparations for the relocation of the Veterans Memorial getting underway first. Workers with Robert L. Faulkner & Son Inc. and Garrett Landscapes excavated the site and removed the flagpoles. Footers for the new site are scheduled to be poured this week. (Mary Woodson and Darryl Woodson photos)
