The Union View Advent Christian Church held a service of ordination for Nathaniel Rutan as Pastor of the church on Sunday, July 20. T.G. Ayers delivered the message for the installation service. All in attendance enjoyed a familystyle meal following the service. It was a day of celebration for the Union View congregation and its ministry to the Collierstown community The Effinger Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank all those who supported its summer barbecue chicken sale and raffle held Saturday, July 12, at the Firehouse. The annual raffle fundraiser provides important financial support to the fire department as it serves the community. The sale of the 2026 Effinger Community Birthday Calendar is underway. The cost of the calendar is $4. Birthday, anniversary and memorial listings are 35 cents each. Calendars and listings may be purchased by contacting a Ruritan Club member.
Be sure the annual Palmer Ice Cream Supper, sponsored by the Effinger Ruritan Club, is on your summer calendar. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Palmer Community Center. Good food, delicious homemade ice cream in a variety of flavors, and live music will be available for all to enjoy. The Effinger Ruritan Club looks forward to welcoming patrons to this annual community event.
