This past Sunday, New Monmouth Presbyterian Church had the pleasure of welcoming Bronwen Boswell, the executive presbyter of Shenandoah Presbytery.
New Monmouth welcomed Don Coleman and his wife, Florence, on Sunday, July 6. Don is the founding pastor of East End Fellowship in Richmond. Don’s ministry is rooted in the same Church Hill neighborhood where he’s spent his whole life. Don has also served as the board chairman of Richmond School Board. He has served as a guest lecturer at Western Theological Seminary (where Rachel Clark is working on her doctor of ministry program).
The Kerrs Creek Ruritan Club met on June 17. District Gov. Cindy Durham and Lt. Gov. Mike Layton were our guests. Cindy presented the club with the Blue Ribbon Award. She also presented Outstanding Club Officer Awards to Vickie Hodges, Felicia Bush and Janet Drake. Congratulations for jobs well done.
The golf tournament held on June 13 was a success! It wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of Christy Harris, Gary and Dianne Swink and the many volunteers for their work prior, during and after the event. Thank you to the teams, sponsors and donors. The team from CornerStone Bank placed first, while JB Harris and Tim Hodges’ teams placed second and third, respectively. Many thanks to all that participated.
