The Rockbridge Area Recreation Organization played host for the annual 12-and-under Cal Ripken state baseball tournament last Wednesday through Friday at Brewbaker Field and Fox Field in Lexington. There were 17 teams competing in four pools, with 31 games in four days. Glen Allen won the championship, defeating Gloucester 11-0 in the finals. The RARO team went 2-2. After the tournament, RARO executive director Chad Coffey (at right, pointing) said he was grateful for the volunteers and the turnout. “Everything went exceptionally well,” said Coffey.
