Natkin Artwork Displayed At Nelson

David Natkin is one of Lexington’s most well-known lawyers yet also one of Lexington’s most prominent photographers.

He loves to capture life on film (well, on digital now) and starting this month that can be seen and enjoyed at Nelson Gallery.

Natkin is a local boy - born, raised, and married right here in Lexington. Yet one wouldn’t know it from the pictures in this month’s art show: scenes as varied as Barcelona is to the Aegean, as the N&W rail yards are to the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department carnival.

Asked whom he admires, he named photographers Sally Mann and Ansel Adams. Yet what influences his subject matter is quite eclectic - painters like Winslow Homer, the artists in the Uffizi Gallery, the Temple of Dendor at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The opening reception is this Friday, July 11, from 5 to 7 p.m.
