CITY OF LEXINGTON NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO REVIEW AN APPLICATION FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW 300 DIAMOND STREET TO BE USED AS A DAY CARE CENTER
A public hearing will be conducted by the Lexington City Council at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 17, 2025 in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, to allow persons to appear and present their views in response to a Conditional Use Permit application submitted by TAP – Head Start. The application is a request for a Conditional Use Permit that would allow a day care center to operate out of a portion of the building located at 300 Diamond Street (Tax Map # 17-1-135B).
A copy of the application, case number CUP 202505 is available for public review and examination between 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. in the Planning and Development Department located at 539 E. Nelson Street, Second Floor.

Lance and Lauren Randolph, 722 Union Run Rd., Lexington, Virginia 24450 have made an application for a special exception permit to develop and operate a licensed childcare center. The property is owned by John C. and Margaret B Holmes (above address) and is located on the south side of Anderson Farm Rd. (Route 712) approximately (0.314 miles) west of the intersection of Anderson Farm Rd. and Backdraft Rd. (Route 729) and is further identified as tax map number 36-A-97A (5.08 ac per tax records). The property is located in the Agricultural and General Uses (A-2) zoning district. Per section 603.03-5 of the County of Rockbridge Land Development Regulations (the regulations), a Commercial Kennel is a use by special exception in the A-2 zoning District.
