Small group meets tomorrow, Thursday, June 26, at 7 p.m. at the fellowship hall for Bible study led by Joe Hawes. Light refreshments will be served and all are invited to attend.
Vacation Bible school will be held at Cave Mountain Lake on Saturday, July 19.
Two men who grew up in Stoner Hollow recently passed away. One was John Hickman, brother of Wayne Lee Hickman, who had lived for many years in Connecticut. He later moved to Richmond to be near his daughters’ family. He was in the Natural Bridge High School class of 1956. Charles “Bud” Ginger passed away at Kendal after a short illness on Tuesday, June 17. He was in NBHS Class of 1954. He remained in Stoner Hollow throughout his life.
High Bridge will celebrate its 255th anniversary this fall on the weekend Sept. 27-28. Please join us for different celebration and history activities each day. That Saturday, Dr. Tom Camden, retired Washington and Lee University history professor, will give a program at 2 p.m. on the history of High Bridge and the old community of Springfield. A tent will be set up outside with refreshments to follow. The next day, we will have regular worship with a catered lunch in the tent to follow.
The food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, and close at 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting pork and beans for the food pantry in June.
