Summer FAIR Returns With Revitalized Arts Camp

After a four-year hiatus, the summer Fine Arts in Rockbridge camp is making its return, bringing music, movement, theater and visual arts back to the children of the Rockbridge community Aug. 4-8.

Students from rising first grade through high school will immerse themselves in a vibrant week of creativity, self-expression, and artistic exploration. Held at Lexington Presbyterian Church in downtown Lexington, the Summer FAIR camp offers half-day sessions with professional instruction across four disciplines: music, movement and dance, theater and creative writing, and visual arts.

Summer FAIR has been a staple in the Rockbridge arts scene since the 1970s, nurturing generations of young artists and performers. A spokesperson for FAIR said that the 2025 revival keeps the original spirit alive while offering a fresh, inclusive and accessible experience for today’s youth.

“We’re excited to contribute to Summer FAIR’s tradition of immersing students in all types of art,” said Jamie Goodin, a director of the camp. “It’s more than an arts camp ‒ it’s an opportunity for creativity, confidence, and community within a multigenerational setting.”

Registration is now open, with need-based scholarships available thanks to generous community sponsors and donors. Families are encouraged to apply early, as space is limited.
