Notice is hereby given per Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia and Section 808 of the County of Rockbridge Land Development Regulations (the Regulations) that public hearings will be held by the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors on Monday, June 23, 2025, at or after 6:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in the County Administration Building, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450 to consider the following applications:

1. Cassandra V. Harding, 405 McClure Boulevard, Fairfield, Virginia, 24435 has made an application for a Special Exception Permit to develop and operate a dog training facility (Private School). The property (above address) is owned by Cassandra V. Harding and is further identified as TM# 39A-3A. The property is located near the south side of McClure Boulevard (Rte. 724) approximately 0.77 miles east of the intersection of McClure Boulevard and Sterrett Road (Rte. 717). The property is in the Agricultural and General Uses (A-2) Zoning District. Per section 603.03-20 of the Regulations, private schools are a use by special exception in the A-2 District. The property is in the Walkers Creek Magisterial District.

2. Washington and Lee University, 204 W Washington Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450 has made a Special Exception application for the expansion of a private school. The application is for the development of a driving range and putting green for the University. The property is owned by Washington and Lee University (address above) and is identified 126 W Midland Trail, Lexington, Virginia 24450. The property is located on the north side of W Midland Trail (Rte. 60), approximately 0.15 miles west of the City of Lexington and is further identified as tax map number 61-A-44 (68.9 ac. per tax records). The property is located in the Agricultural Transitional (A-T) Zoning District. Per section 603B.03-17 of the Regulations, private schools are a use by special exception in the A-T Zoning District. The property is in the Kerrs Creek Magisterial District.

3. Leisa N. Plummer, 125 Furrs Mill Road, Lexington, Virginia 24450 has made an application for a Special Exception Permit for the construction of an accessory structure in Zone AE Hatched (Floodway) in the Special Flood Hazard Area. The property is located on the south side of Furrs Mill Road (Rte. 631) approximately 0.23 miles west of the intersection of N Lee Highway (Rte. 11) and Furrs Mill Road (Rte. 631). The property is owned by Leisa N. Plummer (above address) and is further identified as tax map 61A1-4-7A.The property is located in the Residential General (R-1) Zoning District and is within the Flood Hazard [Overlay] District (FH-1). Per section 608.11-2(1) of the Regulations, structures accessory to residential uses in Zone AE Hatched (Floodway) of the Special Flood Hazard Area is a use by Special Exception in the FH-1 Overlay District. The property is in the Kerrs Creek Magisterial District.

4. Jake and Brenna Tomlin, 115 Emerald Lane, Lexington, Virginia 24450 have made an application for a special exception permit to develop and operate a commercial kennel. The property is owned by Jake and Brenna Tomlin (address above) and is identified as 115 Emerald Lane, Lexington, Virginia 24450. The property is located on the south side of East Midland Trail (Rte. 60), approximately 0.294 miles east of the intersection of East Midland Trail and Forge Rd. (Route 608) and is further identified as tax map number 89-A-19A (22.93 ac. per tax records). The property is located in the Agricultural Transitional (A-T) Zoning District. Per section 603B.03-4 of the Regulations, commercial kennels are a use by special exception in the A-T Zoning District. The property is in the Buffalo Magisterial District.

5. Michael W. Godfrey and Laurie-An Lanpher, 926 Maury River Road, Lexington, Virginia 24450 have made an application for a special exception permit to develop and operate a bed & breakfast homestay. The property is owned by Michael W. Godfrey and Laurie-An Lanpher and is identified as 926 Maury River Rd., Lexington, Virginia 24450. The property is located on the east side of Maury River Road (Route 39), approximately 1.15 miles north of the intersection of Maury River Road and Alphin Lane (Route 750) and is further identified as tax map number 61-2-1C (1.35 ac per tax records). The property is located in the Residential General (R-1) zoning district. Per section 604.03-1 of the Regulations, a Bed and Breakfast Homestay is a use by special exception in the R-1 zoning District. The property is in the Walkers Creek Magisterial District.
