High Bridge Presbyterian Church had several visitors this past Sunday for Fathers’ Day.
Recently, Kathy Gilbert and family, including son Will Gilbert of Richmond, daughter Mary Gilbert, son Daniel, his wife Hannah, and their infant son Henry Robert Gilbert, all of Boulder, Colo., attended the wedding of Fabian Garther and Caroline Kettler in Hagen, Germany.
John and Mary Atthowe recently returned from visiting their daughter in Paris, France.
The families of the late Bob and Jean Tolley Bourne held their annual weekend at Cave Mountain Lake on Saturday and a worship service at the home of Gayle Tolley.
Betsy Shepard recently attended the high school graduation ceremony of her granddaughter Anna Louise Rivercomb Shepard in Asheville, Attending the Presbyterian Women’s Summer Gathering this past Saturday at Massanetta Springs were Faye Worley, Connie Powell, and Carol Tolley.
The Session will meet after worship on June 22.
Join us for worship and an Independence Day picnic Sunday, June 29. Deacons will provide hot dogs, and the congregation is invited to bring sides and desserts.
Vacation Bible School will be held at Cave Mountain Lake on Saturday, July 19.

High Bridge will celebrate its 255th nniversary this fall on the weekend Sept. 27-28. Please join us for different celebration and history activities each day. That Saturday, Dr. Tom Camden, retired Washington and Lee University history professor, will give a program at 2 p.m. on the history of High Bridge and the old community of Springfield. A tent will be set up outside with refreshments to follow. The next day, we will have regular worship with a catered lunch in the tent to follow.
The food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, June 19, and close at 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting pork and beans for the food pantry in June.
