Reconstruction of the Lexington Golf and Country Club can move forward following approval of a special exception permit Monday by the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors.
Reconstruction of the golf course and country club facilities is a joint project of LGCC and Washington and Lee University and will likely get underway this summer. A dozen conditions are attached to the SEP that was granted to LGCC/W&L Joint Venture LLC.
The supervisors spent a couple of hours Monday evening going over the conditions. Among the issues discussed were the hours of operation, noise and lighting associated with the planned new pickleball and/or tennis courts, swimming pool and playground; how late to allow outdoors amplified music; and the processes for testing the water of streams and wells before and after the applications of herbicides and fertilizers on the golf course’s grass.
