June 3, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette: I am writing to express my strong support for Del. Terry Austin in the upcoming Republican Primary on June 17. Del. Austin’s commitment to fostering economic development and his proactive approach to serving his constituents make him the clear choice for the Virginia House of Delegates.
When redistricting expanded Austin’s representation to include Rockbridge County, he wasted no time in getting to work. He immediately engaged with local leaders, asking how he could help promote the county and grow our economy. This hands-on approach demonstrates his dedication to understanding and addressing the unique needs of the communities he serves.
As a budget conferee and the ranking Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, Austin has played a pivotal role in shaping the state’s financial priorities. He has also worked tirelessly to give a voice to rural Virginia west of Charlottesville, ensuring that our region’s unique challenges and opportunities are represented in Richmond.
His leadership has been instrumental in ensuring critical investments in our region, including improvements to Interstate-81. He also championed budget language to generate revenues for improvements at the Virginia Horse Center, a vital economic and cultural asset for our area.
Austin’s focus on economic growth, his thoughtful leadership, and his unwavering commitment to his constituents are exactly what we need in Richmond.
