New Officers For the VFW

In May, new officers for VFW Post 1499 were sworn in for the 2025-26 term. They are (back row, from left) Steve Beck, second year trustee; David Kuroski, quartermaster and service officer; Michael Young, adjutant and judge advocate; Clifford Hall, chaplain; Suzanne Mayerchak, senior vice commander; Joseph Towle, member; (front row, from left) Dean Knick, life member; Bob Hopkins, life member; P.J. Fresquez; Lucy Strowbridge, third-year trustee; and Brandon Jones, commander and surgeon. Not pictured are John Hadley, junior vice commander, and Alexander Thymmons, first year trustee. Members also celebrated Fresquez’s life membership with the VFW. Fresquez is moving to Florida to live with his daughter. “P.J. will be missed and was celebrated with cheer,” said a VFW spokesperson. “He is the kind of man who would take the shirt of his back to clothe another. His commitment to the Shenandoah Valley post 1499 was commendable and will never be forgotten.”
