Goshen June Bash Features Derby Race, Music, Food

The town of Goshen will be holding a June Bash on June 21 from 1 to 8 p.m.

The event will open with a derby race held on Old Alleghany Circle for children between the ages of 6 and 15.

Participants will be divided into two categories: ages 6-10 and ages 11-15. First-place trophies will be awarded to the winner in each age group, as well as an award for the most creative vehicle.

Brakes and steering are required for the cars, as well as tires that cannot exceed 12 inches in size. Helmets will be required as well. Participants are asked to register in advance by calling the town office at (540) 997-5545 or emailing [email protected].

While is no monetary registration fee, the town is asking for some kind of pet food donation at the entrance to support the Goshen pet food pantry which operates every Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Goshen town office alongside the RARA food pantry. All pet foods will be accepted and appreciated.

Following the races there will be live music from 2 to 8 p.m., provided by Glen Shelton, Bruce Allen, Jason Burke, Dennis Thorne and Lisa Conner. Puff’s Bar-B-Q will have a food truck on site to provide food and there will be games and a bounce house. The event is free to attend.
