The mountain laurel are already in bloom on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Diane Namaste of Rockbridge County captured this scene on the north end of Whetstone Trail just south of the Parkway’s intersection with Va. 56 about two weeks ago. There were also beautiful rhododendrons blooming in the forest, she said.
