Rotary Club Donates To Christmas Baskets
The Lexington Rotary Club presented the Rockbridge Christmas Basket Program with a check for $7,800 at the club’s regular April meeting. These funds were raised at the Rockbridge Community Festival held in downtown Lexington last August.
Each March, preparations begin for the Community Festival. The Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Lexington Rotary Club work together to bring vendors, civic and religious organizations together for a day of fun, food, crafts, art and education on Main Street.
Sponsors joined the club to pay for expenses. Last year’s sponsors included Sadler Law & Trust, Honorable Tree Service, Shenandoah Dental Studio, Welsh Construction, Hampton Inn Col Alto, Kendal at Lexington, Lexington Animal Hospital, Old Dominion Realty, Parkhurst Dining Services, and Dr. AB Hammond.
After expenses, the event earned $7,800 for the Lexington Rotary Club. On April 16 the Club donated that entire amount to the Rockbridge Christmas Basket Program.
