The Lexington Woman’s Club has announced that in the annual student writing contest of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, four local entrants won blue ribbons at the state level and will go on to compete at the national convention.
They are Adeline Barker, Rockbridge Christian Academy, grades K-2, for her poem “Browz”; Luke Crosby, Central Elementary, grades 3-5, for his poem “Song of the Sorrowful Bird”; Jaclyn Marshall, Maury River Middle School, grades 6-8, for her poem “When Heaven Holds Its Breath”; and Vivienne Hirt, grades 6-8, for her short story “Piper Miracle Strong.”
