High Bridge

High Bridge Presbyterian Church had one visitor this Sunday, Ann Hubbard, of Richmond. Ann is the daughter of Garnette Teass.

The evening circle meets Tuesday, June 3, at 6 at Faye Worley’s, and Ruth Anne Parsons has the Bible lesson.

Today, Wednesday, May 28, the men’s group will meet at the fellowship hall at 5:30 p.m.

Tomorrow, Thursday, May 29, Small Group Bible study led by Joe Hawes will meet at the fellowship hall at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served afterward, and everyone is invited to attend.

Also, beginning June 1, the Presbyterian Women will be sponsoring a special birthday cake offering. The cake garnering the highest number of donations will determine the winning baker in the contest.

High Bridge scholarship award winners were as follows: elementary to middle school —Josie Armentrout, JuliAnn Lotts and Preston White; middle to high school — Betty and Marie Thomas, and Norah Upchurch. high school to college — Andrew McCoy and Lee Vest; college graduates — Addie Suter, and Anna Vest, and Max Pennington.

Natural Bridge Station mourns the passing of Fay Spangler Hill on May 14. Fay was a member of the Natural Bridge High School class of 1953.

Our church is preparing for its two 255th anniversary celebration at the end of September.

The food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday. May 31. and close at 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting boxed macaroni and cheese for the food pantry for May.
