Dr. Heather Gentry-Ault has been announced as the next superintendent of Buena Vista City Public Schools.
Her new position will become effective July 1.
Gentry-Ault currently serves as the director of instruction for Amelia County Public Schools, a role she has held since 2023. She began her education career in Richmond County Public Schools as a classroom teacher in 2000.
Gentry-Ault has served as an assistant principal in King William County Public Schools, a principal in Essex County Public Schools and Chesterfield County Public Schools, and as the director of human resources in Amelia County Public Schools, culminating in nearly 25 years of experience in public education.
The Virginia School Boards Association assisted the school board with the superintendent search process.
