Woods Creek Benefit Race Supporters Thanked
Organizers of the seventh annual Woods Creek Run 4 the Kids benefit race would like to thank all of the supporters and sponsors of this year’s event. The race, which raised $7,539 this year, has now raised $44,322 over the past seven years.
“I am grateful to all of you, the many fine individuals, business listed below, local organizations such as the Friends of Woods Creek, Lexington Police Department, Lexington Fire and Rescue, City Council, Jani Hostetter, various volunteers, Cameron Jordan and his excellent engraving of yearly awards, musicians So Diverse, Eric Tubbs, Eric Yost, and Jason Hostetter, Pi Kappa Phi, Phi Kappa Psi, W&L Residence Life, W&L Outing Club, W&L Bonner Scholars, Tracy Gordon at VMI facilities, and the VMI Keydets for making the last seven years possible,” said David Allen Wells.
Wells noted that he has now stepped down as director but hopes something continues to help local youth in need.
“Since several local races are discontinuing this year, I hope we as a community can reclaim them and reinvent them by creating a Rockbridge Rundown Series, hopefully bringing in runners from outside our area to enjoy the richness of our area and create more revenue to help more people,” he said. “Who’s in?”
