Retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Marti J. Bissell, former deputy commanding general, National Guard, Training and Doctrine Command, will be the guest speaker at the annual Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 26.
The event will take place at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial at Courthouse Square, at the corner of Washington and Main streets in Lexington.
The ceremony is sponsored by the George C. Marshall Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America.
The ceremony will also feature an honor guard from E.C. Glass High School Air Force JROTC, trumpet music by Peter Del Vecchio, laying of wreaths in memory of those who died while serving in the U.S. military, and the playing of “Taps.”
