W&L Student Group Yard Sale Today
The Student Environmental Action League (SEAL) at Washington and Lee University will host a campus-wide garage sale from noon to 5 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 21, on Cannan Green. Purchases are open to all members of the community, and any unsold clothing items will be donated to Goodwill, while unsold furniture will be donated to Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore.
“The garage sale provides a profitable alternative to throwing away your old stuff at the end of the year,” said Grace Rustay ‘27, SEAL president. “The ecosystem at W&L isn’t limited to the natural world. Events like the garage sale promote greener, more sustainable interactions between students and the broader environment here on campus.”
“We would love for Lexington community members to stop by the garage sale,” said Rustay. “Part of SEAL’s mission is encouraging a more circular economy. We want to make the W&L ecosystem a little greener, brighter and better, and engaging the Lexington community in our events is a huge part of this goal.”
